Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic doctors are regulated health professionals trained to be experts in natural health by blending modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. Naturopathic Medicine looks at disease as being a process and not as an entity. Symptoms of disease are looked at as clues that there may be an underlying health imbalance that needs to be investigated. Underlying causes of disease are investigated and treated using natural modalities to restore health, rather rather than symptomatic treatment which just makes the symptom go away. Naturopathic Doctors have a minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education and go through extensive clinical training in physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, diagnosis and physical exam as well as clinical nutrition.
